Jeremy Balius is co-founder and Managing Director of Filament, a Go-To-Market (GTM) enablement firm based in North Sydney, Australia, which he co-founded with Nick Horton in 2022.
As Managing Director, Jeremy focuses on Filament’s go-to-market direction, business development and vendor relationships, and oversees the agency’s technical services delivery, working alongside Nick Horton, who leads Filament’s GTM consultancy practice for clients.
Jeremy has led go-to-market engagements for partner programmes within the Microsoft, Veeam, Cisco, NetApp, HPE and VMware ecosystems, helping channel partners sharpen their value proposition and translate vendor-level GTM strategy into partner-level execution.
Across more than 18 years working with B2B tech vendors and their channel partners, Jeremy has built and expanded marketing frameworks, deployed demand-generation and lead-generation programmes, supported market entry, and unlocked vendor funding to grow partner market share for companies including VMware, Microsoft, Dell, Cisco, HPE, AWS, Google, IBM, NetApp, Veeam, Tata, Zerto, Dropbox, Nutanix, Symantec and Splunk.
This work spans independent software vendors (ISVs); managed service providers (MSPs), value-added resellers (VARs) and systems integrators (SIs); cloud-based IaaS, PaaS and SaaS providers; cybersecurity and managed security service providers (MSSPs); edge infrastructure and IoT providers; virtualisation and application deployment specialists; data centres; and distributors and aggregators.
Before leading agencies, Jeremy worked in marketing and communications within the finance and investment sector, where he led the corporate communication programme on a $47.1 million off-market transaction.
He founded his first agency, OM ThreeSixty, in 2014, where his work included articulating the state of mobile marketing for Google Southeast Asia in partnership with Capitalis, supporting Australian tech companies entering and expanding into the US market, growing a channel partner programme fourfold within 12 months, and expanding a SaaS multinational’s footprint across Southeast Asia.
In 2020, he founded Volt Lab, where Nick Horton later served as Commercial Director, before the two co-founded Filament together in 2022.
Jeremy’s work contributed to Filament’s Best Content Marketing Campaign win at the 2022 SEMrush Search Awards, and he led the Probax go-to-market pivot that won the Wasabi Global Channel Award for Best Marketing Partner APAC.
Known for his strategic vision and a focus on building scalable offers and services, Jeremy is recognised for his go-to-market strategy expertise and his ability to translate vendor channel programmes into commercially grounded plans for partners. He hosts the Go-to-Market Playmakers podcast, formerly titled the B2B Tech Marketing Talks Podcast, and the Tech Exec Insights video series, featuring conversations with B2B tech and channel leaders including Dave Boyce of Winning by Design and Jay McBain of Omdia Canalys.
